I thought I was done adding people to my family. Turns out I wasn’t. Nate and Sarah flew me out to their home town of Springfield Missouri. Never heard of it, right? When I got there, I met my new midwest family, in a town I’ve never heard of. Kind hearted-ness was everywhere. Smiles and hugs were coming at me from every angle. I bottled up their friendship and brought it home with me. It meant so much to be around this group of people, some of them knew each other their whole lives and some met on Instagram recently, but one thing they had in common was, a love for a simple life and a love for each other.

How could this get any better? Maybe add the primary photographer shooting digital who is so kind and generous to welcome me into his memory creating space named Christian Gideon (see his photos of this same day here). After you’ve seen those and you ask yourself “how can this get any better”, I would draw your attention over to David Fiser the videographer who put together my favorite wedding film of all time. I watched the entire 10 minute film twice. I’ve never done that before. It’s good. Super good.

I’m not typically on site for the day before the wedding, but this was my new family after all, so these first photos you’ll see are the day before the wedding. This will not look like my usual work because I shot it all on black and white film. This isn’t normal for me at weddings. I do not do this. But I did do this, so I guess I do do this. Dang it.
